The problem is the entire ‘departures’ process is a nightmare both for staff at reception and for housekeepers. Renewing stays is really difficult for guests, they are forced to chekout and checkin again. Changing housekeeper assigned rooms during the shift is imposible.

We interviewed members of the staff to understand motivations and frustrations. We defined user personas to list goals and requirements of people who will be using the app.
Reception Staff can knows in real time the rooms that are already done and they can provide early checkins.
Having the information about the type of room and beds housekeepers can prepare the right equipment in advance.
Supervisors can assign and prioritize tasks. Housekeepers receive notifications in real time during their shifts.
According to departures the app calculates and provide the total ammount of linen that needs to be cleaned.
Reception Staff can make changes in housekeepers calendar and rooms assignations in real time.
Profile + badges
Gamification concepts were added generating healthy internal competition among the housekeepers team.
A reward system was incorporated, improving team performance.
